message of the day – 04.22.2024

Give yourself some time and space to reflect on the little things that you do on a daily basis, and how they really impact your approach to life around you. For example, you may think that it’s harmless to spend a sizable chunk of your downtime on social media, but reflecting on that choice may expose you to some truths that oblige you to reconsider. Or you may also think that you’re not doing much by adding your own personal touches to your wardrobe, your work(out) equipment, the foods that you eat, or the beverages that you drink. But you are, because every time you make the effort to listen to yourself in a practical manner, you create opportunities for anything to find you in response to your choice – from intuitive guidance to insights that enlighten you to blessings that unfold before your eyes. You never know when you’ve done the “right” thing to create a desired outcome until it’s arrived, and this is why the little things matter. It matters when you do little things that support you and uplift your mood, because they keep you open to yourself and the abundance of possibilities that can take shape for you. And on the other hand, it matters when you do little things that undermine you and corrupt your mood, because they keep you closed off – to yourself, the possibilities that exist before you, and the blessings that exist beyond you.

Be willing to question yourself when you start to feel like you’re giving too much time and energy to little things that aren’t giving back to you in full, because there’s always a better way to satisfy the desires that push you in those directions, but they won’t come to you unless you’re willing to dig a little deeper. Sometimes, you have to adjust your boundaries. Sometimes, you have to take yourself a bit more seriously. Sometimes, you’ve just got to drop whatever you’re dealing with, and trust that you’re capable of doing much better on your own. This isn’t a time for you to neglect your peace by pouring your energy into experiences that can’t feed your soul. This is a time for you to challenge yourself to expand, by letting go of the experiences that disturb your peace and challenge your values and encourage you to question yourself in ways that cause you to doubt your guidance and your worth. This is a time for you to get comfortable with being uncomfortable, because there is discomfort in advocating for yourself in new ways that support your growth, and that discomfort is very much a good thing (in reasonable doses, of course).

There is always discomfort in growth, because you’ve got to learn how to fill yourself out, and the process changes as you do. You have to learn how to accept that you’re enough. And you have to learn how to accept that you are so innately abundant, that you can’t begin to embrace all of yourself without allowing your growth to show you more about who you are and where you are meant to thrive. This day will have been an uncomfortable day, and this week will be an uncomfortable week if you are choosing yourself and your growth, because you will be shown all of the habits, patterns, and experiences that you need to break through in order to reach your next level. You don’t have to fear or dread this discomfort either, because it’s not meant to consume you. It’s not meant to haunt your dreams, it’s not meant to block your progress, and it’s not meant to threaten anything more than your need for comfort. Instead, consider your discomfort to be an opportunity to listen to yourself in new ways, because if you ask yourself questions during those moments? You’ll receive answers, and those answers will tell you more about yourself. They will tell you what makes you uncomfortable, they will tell you why those things make you so uncomfortable, and they will help you see the value that exists in pushing through that discomfort in the name of choosing yourself. So, choose yourself. Reflect. Find peace in where you are right now, because your journey continues, and that peace is why you get to leave your past behind instead of just moving forward into a new reality that’s just like your old one beneath the surface. You are growing, so be proud of what you have done, and let that pride guide you authentically. There is more for you to do, and it starts to come together when you give yourself the uplift and support that you deserve.
